Growing up doesn’t have to mean you have to give up your childhood passions. Sarah Schoback and Hunter Guerard, two of the three owners of Obstacle Academy, trace their love of movement back to their childhoods. “Human movement is cool,” says Guerard. He watched a lot of Power Rangers and Jackie Chan as a kid, and wanted to be a stuntman or a gymnast when he grew up. He thought that gymnastics, skateboarding, wrestling, and even figure skating were cool.

Schoback’s father got her started on her path by pushing her and her two sisters to do their best. “He was super competitive with us. He taught us to do our best no matter what,” she says. Shoback loved to play on monkey bars, run around, and swing all over the place. This early love of activity would manifest into the later catalyst for Obstacle Academy.

Go behind the scenes of this "American Ninja" style fitness facility and find out why working out doesn't have to feel like "working out."
